Shelby is a dedicated and passionate therapist who hopes to help children, adolescents, and adults find relief from their OCD or other anxiety related disorders. She gained interest in helping people through difficult times specifically with the pediatric population and their families during her undergraduate years at Taylor University where she studied social work. After gaining some work experience with foster care, Shelby quickly became interested in helping people learn more about and manage their mental health. She then pursued further education at the University of Pittsburgh where she obtained a Master’s in Social Work. During her education, she became more interested in working with children and families who experience OCD symptoms. Shelby learned more about the implementation of Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and became a clinician at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic’s Pediatric OCD Intensive Outpatient Program where she is currently a group clinician, family therapist, and outpatient therapist. She uses empathy to meet her clients where they are and help them apply the skills learned in ERP to improve their overall functioning within school, work, family, and home.
In her free time, Shelby enjoys DIY projects for her house, going for a long run, and exploring new cities.
