Jennie Geisler LMFT, CADC is a seasoned therapist who works with individuals, families and groups who are struggling with OCD and related anxiety disorders. Jennie is a certified practitioner of CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) for anxiety disorders, as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) for the treatment of trauma. Jennie has received specialized training in ERP for the treatment of OCD. She is also a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC). Before working at The Center for OCD and Anxiety, Jennie worked in a number of mental health settings in the Pittsburgh area including Pittsburgh Mercy, as a therapist treating a range of mental health issues, Pressley Ridge, where she worked with children and families in foster care, St. Francis Hospital, as a clinician on the Adult Unit for Alcohol and Drug Addiction treating both addicts and their families, and her own individual private practice of 25 years. She has also served as a leader in both high school and college youth ministries in the Pittsburgh area.
Jennie graduated from Grove City College in Psychology/Religion and then went on to Fuller Seminary for her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in 2002 when the Pennsylvania law was first passed. With the prospect of focusing on OCD and anxiety disorder, Jennie hopes to work with individuals, families and groups. She loves meeting new people and exploring how she can best serve as a therapist.
Jennie spends her down time with her two adult daughters and her greyhound. She enjoys doing scrapbook weekends, spending time with her Discipleship group, and planning for her next travel destination.
