Jade Sherman, LPC

Senior Therapist, Monroeville

Jade is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 7 years of experience in the mental health field. She received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University and her Bachelors in both Psychology and Philosophy at Slippery Rock University. As a therapist that specializes in the treatment of OCD and anxiety, Jade utilizes Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Jade understands the importance of support systems and the way struggles with OCD and anxiety can cause distress in relationships so providing education, support, and Family Systems techniques to loved ones is commonplace, with the consent of the client. Jade values the therapeutic alliance and aims to build a trusting, safe, and judgment free environment for every client through a person-centered approach and a healthy sense of humor.

Previous Clinical Experience

Following her Graduation from Slippery Rock University in 2015, Jade began her career in prevention education services at Adagio Health. She was responsible for delivering curriculums on topics ranging from drug use prevention and domestic violence prevention to sexual health and sexual assault prevention in inner city pittsburgh high schools. Post Masters graduation Jade was a Drug and Alcohol counselor, where she worked in multiple levels of care, focusing primarily on outpatient and intensive outpatient settings. During her time as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor she utilized a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),  Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). She expanded her clinical experience by working on a Coordinated Specialty Care team for Wesley Family Services ENGAGE program, which was designed as an early intervention program for transitional age youth experiencing their first episode of psychosis. At the ENGAGE program she implemented Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R), and had the privilege to receive training and supervision from Dr. Aaron Brinen, the developer of Recovery-Oriented Cognitive Therapy (CT-R).
