Senior Therapist, South Hills

Gia is a therapist dedicated to reducing mental health stigma and helping children, adolescents, and adults with OCD and related disorders. She received her Masters in Social Work from California University of Pennsylvania, completing her clinical internships at Southwood Psychiatric Hospital, where she provided support and treatment to children and adolescents with severe psychiatric issues, and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where she provided support for family members whose children and adolescents were experiencing complex medical issues.
Gia gained her first experience working with OCD as an undergraduate at Penn State University. She interned at the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for OCD at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, providing treatment for children and adolescents with severe OCD. Gia developed a deep interest in OCD and ERP therapy and found the work to be extremely rewarding, as she saw firsthand how much progress her clients achieved. It was this experience that inspired Gia to pursue a specialization in OCD.
Outside of work Gia enjoys baking and spending time with her friends, family, and her black cat, Frankenstein.
