Alyssa is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who earned her Clinical Counseling degree from Duquesne University. Alyssa has been working in the mental health field for over 8 years and has been privileged to deliver therapy to clients in a variety of settings including wrap-around, residential and outpatient services. Alyssa has worked with individuals who struggle with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI), anxiety and mood disorders, life transitions and addiction.
Alyssa believes therapy is based on a foundation of trust and prioritizes the therapeutic rapport built with each client. She treats therapy as a safe space where clients can develop insight, confront concerns, and successfully navigate challenges. Alyssa utilizes a client centered, strengths-based approach when working with individuals and families and is interested in the personal experiences of each of her clients. With a foundation of Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention, Alyssa strives to equip each client with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage their anxiety and OCD.
When not in session, you’ll likely find Alyssa reading fiction novels, listening to podcasts or birdwatching at a local park with her husband and her trusty Chihuahua, Camus.
